"Decent enough, they have a super as a guard, I have a feeling she would rather see ‘the guy that is hunting supers’, dead then stand trial. So answer me something, Why does the institute want to represent me? I basically stole the armor designs and power core blueprints when they let me go." Maddox turned his attention to all the papers that the lawyer had out on the table trying to see a pattern and see how the FSA even knew he was apart of some of these hits. He comes to a case that was dated 2 years ago April 23rd, and picked it out of the pile and handed it to the lawyer. "That one was not me, I was in the hospital that time 2 years ago with a really bad infection. you can pull my medical record" Maddox would say to the lawyer.

Kira was fast asleep when her brother, Sam, arrived. The nurse quietly explained her injuries to him in the doorway, speaking in a hushed voice so as to not disturb her. His relief was palpable when hearing that none of her injuries would have long term consequences other than scarring from the copious burns. The nurse brought some water for him and he sat down next to her bed, waiting for her to wake up. Soon enough he noticed the leaflets left by John Martins. The handler had been thoughtful enough to leave a more detailed version of what Sam had already been told about the encounter with Garrison. As he read he slowly but surely came around to the idea of Kira entering the program, once she was fully recovered of course. Naturally it would be totally up to her, and the requirements were quite demanding. She would have to maintain an average of a B grade at school, as well as begin an extra study program to do with hero work and also have to undergo significant physical training. If she wanted to do it, Sam was confident she would rise to the levels required.

When Kira eventually stirred, she immediately teared up as Sam came over to delicately hug her. She gripped him tightly, ignoring the discomfort it causes her burned skin.
“Sorry… again.” she whispered, her throat feeling constricted with emotion. Sam just squeezed her tighter, she knew he was saying it doesn’t matter. When they eventually let each other go he dragged a chair over to her bed and sat down next to her, holding her bandaged hands as she told him all about what happened. She vividly described how she noticed the disturbance on the street as she walked to the train station. How she couldn't move as Garrison ripped through the policemen and wrecked their cars. And finally how she snapped out of her daze and started using her powers to try to keep him back, but he kept coming towards her. Then, how she went beyond what she ever thought her power was capable of and unleashed a massive discharge, blasting Garrison back and immobilizing him. Sam listened intently, knitting his brows and gripping her hands even tighter as she described the immense pain as she let out the blasts, effectively breaking her own body to fight him, and again when she woke up in hospital before they drugged her up.

“John Martins said Garrison was a really powerful villain,” She said, starting to grin, “I don’t know how I stopped him.” She finished, brightly smiling from ear to ear despite her injuries.
“Speaking of that guy,” Sam said, picking up the leaflets he left, “Maybe you should have a look at this again?”
“Yeah, I think so too!”

"You clearly don't understand the principles of these three supers, however problematic they may be. The one you should be afraid of is that Lauri Törni but they aren't important. You will survive to see the light of day. I already pulled your medical records. The rest of these hits have extremely weak evidence and won't hold up in court. Did you really steal the plans or did the institute allow you to take them? Do you really know? As for my organization we prefer to keep our motives a secret but I can tell you that my superiors believe that our organization will benefit with your unique skill set." Mr. Wheeler states in a matter of fact way. Mr. Wheeler then proceeds to explain the defense plans he had laid out for Dominic involving a loophole involving Federal Super Agents and use of lethal force. By the time they are done a couple hours later it seemed that all bases had been covered. Maddox is escorted back to his cell.

In his cell Maddox sees Agent Thorne, Casey and Mongrel waiting for him with a team of technicians. It is quickly explained to him that he will be removed from his suit of power armor and they are there to ensure the safety of the of the technician teams. Agent Thorne almost pierces Maddox with his stare and for a second he seem to be the greatest threat. Casey would be clenching is ruined hand but the horror of its look would be shielded from Maddox's gaze by a black glove. Mongrel would seem almost the most human despite her strange build and four arms.

Maddox notices Agent Thorne's stare "What are you looking at? You want Casey to give me a power cell so we can go round 2?" The then turns to the teams of technicians, "What level of tooling do you have / cradle. This suit's control is tied into my neural implant and central nerves. If removal is not done correctly I could end up paralyzed. If you can take me to my lab or the institute lab under guard, my cradle can remove the armor safely." "all you need really is Mongerel, without my armor fully operational I don't stand a chance at escape" Maddox says as he turns to Casey.

"I will handle this, I know enough about cyber mechanics to handle this. Last thing we want is a lawsuit saying we paralyzed him." Casey orders to the technicians who obey his command. Casey leaves the room and in a few minutes his jet bike can be faintly heard starting up and its moan dissipates after a few seconds. As the technicians leave the room an FBI agent enters, whispers something to Thorne. The two FBI agents leave the room leaving Mongrel and two FBI agents alone with Maddox. Mongrel relaxes and leans against the wall next to the door effectively barring any escape attempt. After the door closes behind him Thorne could be faintly heard yelling at the other agent but no one in the room could make out anything. Mongrel didn't pay any attention to it but kept her relaxed focus of Maddox after all those were FBI problems and not a concern of hers. The two FBI agents seemed a little bit concerned but remained focused on their mission.

Maddox in his cell after finding out Casey will be the one stripping him of his damaged armor, would sit on the small small chair in the back corner in his cell looking at the cells entrance "So, I guess you heard a lot about my actions." Dominic says talking to Mongrel, "Guessing you did not expect this weak pathetic person who special powers come from just a black suit that is only half of my design." "The truth is it doesn't even know why i am still doing it, I started so long ago I don't even know if the super I am hunting is even alive anymore. I was too blinded by hate and anger to even see how many lives I have taken."

As morning came, Kenji woke up at the sounds of his family going through their morning routine. As usual they didn’t even try to be a bit quiet. A loud knock on his door. “Won’t you get up already?” His mother. She tried to keep her annoyance down. She was probably the only one in the family that sometimes tried to like him instead of just tolerating his existence. “I feel aweful, I am staying home.” Kenji’s voice sounded even more horrible then he would have thought. The footsteps moving away from his door proved that it was believable enough. A few moments later he could hear the grumbling voice of his father. Ken didn’t need to clearly hear it in order to know what was being said. Something about him being lazy and faking it. It wasn’t even a lie, he really did feel aweful. He nodded off again.
A few hours later he woke up for no particular reason. His body felt stiff and cold. He got up and was relieved to find the house to be completely empty. His mind felt as if he had a huge hangover and wasn’t yet able to formulate a complete thought. A shower would probably help. The water was icecold. Of course, his father had turned off the hot water because Ken was way too wasteful with this. Luckily he didn’t know that Ken knew where the switch was. He just had to remember to switch it back, always. So he pulled the switch and took a long hot shower. As he felt the stiffness of his body fade away, his mind also became clearer. Afterwards, he first put the switch back as to not forget this.
Back in his room, Kenji checked his phone. There was an email from the university. It was closed today and tomorrow because of the incident the day before. It also advised to stay away to those that wanted to come for self-study. He turned the phone off.
Finally he felt that he could think more reasonably again. The shock from the events the day before seemed to have sunk a little. Time to put everything in order. There was an explosion near his university with unknown background, motivation, and victims. Soon after that in his secret hideout/training ground there appeared a dangerous man. Although there was no proof that this man had a connection with the explosion there where strong implications for this. That man was without a doubt dangerous and ready to kill. And that man had already an injury. And he had seen Kenji’s power but most likely not his face. The fight with him was very dangerous and he could have died. Maybe he had killed him, even though he had vowed to only take the life of that one person and only if absolutely necessary. However, there was no choice in the matter yesterday. That was a real fight. His first real fight. And there was no proof that that man had died because of his actions. Heavily injured yes, but maybe not dead. Actually the real issue was that other person. The one that had come in at the end of the fight. Kenji had his face covered. But had he seen his power? The needles were about to dissolve when the door opened, so maybe not.
In conclusion, he had come out of the situation pretty well. The problem for the future was his mental abilities. How was he going to go through with finding the real culprit for the serial murder and putting them to justice if he would have a breakdown after every single serious fight? Was there a way to strengthen his resistance? Maybe watching violent uncensored movies and playing shooter games? No, those would be regarded evidence in case he would get caught. Then what about doing that at an internet cafe... Unlikely, those probably block such content and what if people remember him? He would have to think of a different way.
Kenji checked his calendar. Today was a safe day. The chance that today something would happen was very low. However, tomorrow was a red zone day. A very high chance. He would need to find a way to strengthen his mind fast. A loud growling sound from his stomach disturbed his deep thought. Indeed, it would be better to eat something first. A glance at the clock confirmed that it was already lunchtime.

“Almost there,” Sam said, glancing over at his younger sister who dosed in the passenger seat, her white-blonde hair draped in front of her face, only disturbed by the occasional bump in the road and her steady, deep breathing.
Kira incoherently mumbled a response, her eyelids too heavy to force open. Whether due to the duel with Garrison and the subsequent injuries or the dose of prescription pain killers she had taken, Kira was hardly able to stay awake as they drove from the hospital to their small suburban home. The rhythmic hum of the engine cut out when they arrived. Kira made a feeble attempt to get out of the vehicle, but Sam was already at her side of the car and gently picked her up out of the seat. He carried her inside, all the way to her bedroom, and tenderly placed her on her bed. He took off her shoes, tucked her in under the blanket and drew the blinds. Kira fell asleep before he had even left the room.

Her brother regularly checked on her, making sure her burns or other ailments didn’t disturb her rest. She slept soundly for hours, barely even moving a muscle, even as the sun came up the next morning and cast light over her face.
When she eventually stirred some hours later, it wasn’t long before Sam popped his head in to check on her and came in when he noticed her eyes open. He propped up her pillows so that she was sitting up in bed and after soon presented a bowl of steaming porridge with fruit for her on a tray. They chatted as she ate, she was in quite a bright mood despite her injuries, no doubt helped by the long sleep.
“Do you have the paperwork from Mr. Martins?” Kira asked in between mouthfuls. “We should start filling it out.”
“Really? You sure you don’t want to recover more before making such an important decision?”
“Well, It’s not like I have anything else to do, and I’m feeling fine - despite nearly dying and all that…” She said with a mischievous grin.
“Don’t remind me,” Sam said, going off to fetch the forms, hiding his real concern and genuine, sickening worry with a little chuckle.

Casey rode his jet-bike through the city where the Black Bullet waited in a quiet slumber. His dinner waited for him packed in a Tupperware container as he enter on of the rail cars. He conversed with ASIS back and forth about everything had been happening even back to the conflict with the Lizardman. He was hardly consoled over his own failings of his standards, but ASIS tried to put a positive spin on things. The Maddox family murder case was still open and there were very few flying supers that matched the profile laid out in the reports from before. He would shift his attention to it when he had time. He gathered all the tools he would need and a folding bench that he could use to stabilize Maddox sufficiently for the operation. Casey looked into the display of his medals from his service in the army, Purple Heart, Silver Star and Medal of Honor. He broke his attention from his retirement display and grabbed the last item he needed for Maddox. He loaded his items into a compartment on his jet-bike and rode it back into the city arriving only about an hour after he had left.

He walked into the holding cell carrying a satchel of all of his supplies. He saw Mongrel silently standing guard and it seemed like she hadn't moved or said anything to Maddox during Casey's absence. Casey quickly set up for his operation on Maddox and quickly sanitized his medical equipment. He directed Maddox to lay down on the bench he had set up for him and directed him not to move or he would be sedated. Casey used his sensors to scan and analyze Maddox's Nanosuit. He knew exactly what to do and how to proceed. He called for two of the technicians to assist him as he put of some sterile gloves and he began without making small talk. Mongrel left the room without having said anything to Maddox in the past hour. She was met by agent Thorne who informed her what he had been yelling about almost an hour ago now.

Maddox would follow instruction and lay on the table only moving if instructed. When Casey begins the Operation his sensors picks up the Neural connection between Maddox and the suits main processor as well as the redundant back up systems still fully functional including a back up power supply that Maddox could of activated at any time. As the operation continues Casey finds the suits hidden assembly points as well as more damage that is not recognized by being from Thorne or Casey during there short battle, Maddox must of been involved in other short encounters before he met Casey and Thorne in the warehouse. Casey also detects a small data storage device and if scanned shows some interesting scan results and other data from when Maddox was investing the blood samples and other residue in the warehouse before the confrontation.

Casey dismantles the suit in the correct order and the procedure is completed without incident. Casey covertly removes the data chip using slight of hand to cover for it being removed. Before long Maddox is fully removed from the Nanosuit and he is searched properly for contraband. The Nanosuit is taken to the evidence vault disassembled by the technicians. Maddox is left in his holding cell for the rest of the day and a trial is scheduled for Monday of next week. His bail is set at an exorbitantly high price due his "Dangerous" nature and the fact that his human biology means they can't revoke his right to bail. Casey packs his equipment up and takes it out of the room with him.

Casey walks into his temporary office and sets the data storage device on his desk. He begins filling out reams of paperwork when his handler enters and turns on an old television in the corner of the room. The news primarily consisted of reports of the city being in chaos due to the power vacuum left by the purge of corrupt city officials. Reports of Garrison confrontation and the Maddox strike promptly after. Garrison is reported murdered by Maddox and nothing is said about the suspected altercation between Garrison and the other super. The news drones on for hours as the paperwork piles up and is finally finished. An FBI agent enters and informs Casey that Garrison's body had gone missing. Casey was about to react with outburst before he was told that FBI was already scouring the entire city for the body led by the efforts of Agent Thorne and Mongrel. Casey sat back down given that he was still recovering from a concussion and injuries from the fight. The agent left the room as the news went on about a surge of electromagnetic radiation out in the California desert.

Casey and his handler leave the office and lock the door leaving for the night. Casey leaves the Scarlet City Federal building and mounts his jet-bike. He flies over to rail yard where the Black Bullet waits patiently for him. He lands on the flat car and dismounts his jet-bike as it shuts down. He walked into the rear coach and pulled the Data storage device out of his pocket and began analyzing the data in it through a laptop to protect himself from any viruses or defensive software that could possibly on it. He sifts through everything he can find on it for about an hour before he goes to sleep in his bed.

Back in his cell, Maddox now without his suit can lay down on the bed in his cell with some comfort and tries to get some shut eye. He rests for no more then an hour and then is awakened by a nightmare that he shares almost every time he sleeps, about the day his family was killed, and the feeling of helplessness and knowing that he could do nothing to save them.

He would sit up in bed and just droop his head in his hands, thinking about the night that his family was murdered. He knows that he has to pull himself together, But it is growing more and more difficult to ignore the nightmare of his Families end.

An hour later Sam and Kira were still sifting through the sizable folder of paperwork given to them by John Martins, filling out forms where necessary. The pile of information and forms looked completely overwhelming when Sam first laid it out on the table in front of Kira, but thanks to his experience at work Sam organized it into several sections, divided by topic and importance to ease the process. Despite that it was still a lot for Kira to take in, especially in her condition, but Sam’s patient explanations helped a lot.
“And these are school grades required to take part in the program,” Sam said and handed her a sheet from where he sat next to her, an amused smile played over his face. Kira’s eyes widened as she took in the sheet, absently muttering “Holy sh*t,” as she kept reading.
“Is this even possible for me at this point?” She asked, a troubled look on her face.
“Totally, Mr. Martin’s got hold of your results, somehow, and included a progress chart that shows the broad strokes of where you need to be.” Sam replied calmly, “And anyway, I can help teach you, and I’m not sure if you remember but I did pretty well in school!” He smiled with that, putting on a cocky voice and puffing out his chest.
“Don’t remind me,” Kira responded jovially, “ I used to get weekly talks from Mom and Dad about how much I had to live up to, well, before they…” She choked off, still not really able to talk about all that. Sam just wrapped an arm around her and gave her a warm squeeze.
“Come, on, let’s get back to this.” He said, Kira just nodded and rubbed away the tears that had started pooling in her tired eyes.
Some time passed and they came to the physical requirements section. Once again this is where Sam had the highest doubts in regards to Kira being accepted. He was well aware of her disdain for P.E class. The lengths she sometimes went to in order to avoid school on those days were very humorous at times.
“Well, what have we got again. Looks like pushups, situps, pullups, deadlifts, medicine ball throws, shuttle running, sled pulls, pushes, shoulder presses, benching, squats, more running. Sounds fun right?” He said, looking up at Kira who just closed her eyes and muttered something under her breath which got Sam chuckling.
“Isn’t it a bit extreme sounding? Isn’t the whole point that I have powers? Why do I need to be able to do a million push-ups or whatever?” She said, with a grown.
“Granted these are really tough requirements, especially for a girl your age, but you know why they’re necessary - don’t play dumb with me,” Sam said kindly. Kira was clearly already dreading the physical aspect of the program, but she kept her mouth shut.
“But you know”, Sam said, more sincerely, “If you think it will be too much,”
“No, It won’t be.” Kira butted in, her resolve hardening slightly more regardless of the undoubtedly difficult challenge looming ahead.
“Alright then, let's get back to filling out the rest of the forms,” Sam said, resigning to let her find out the hard way that a life of lazing around and avoiding exercise wouldn’t translate well into meeting fitness requirements that were greater than those required by the army.
Filling out the remaining forms took a little over thirty minutes, by which time Kira was once again visibly exhausted. Sam carried her over to the couch and set her down, draping a fluffy blanket from her room over her and turning on the television. He turned on a sci-fi show she was binging before the pandemonium of the last few days and gave her the remote before walking back into the kitchen. She had almost dozed off despite a thrilling opening scene of the episode when Sam returned with two cups of hot chocolate. This put a smile on Kira’s face and before long they were watching the show together, commenting on each new development of the plot and speculating in between each episode which automatically rolled into the next. Kira gradually grew more tired as the episodes went by, until she eventually fell asleep, her head leaning against Sam’s shoulder.
He carefully extracted himself, resting her head on some cushions, and quietly walked to the kitchen. He made himself a cup of coffee, sat down, and took a sip of the steaming hot brew as he opened his laptop and dug into the boatload of work he had to catch up on for his day job. Before doing that he wrote a brief email to John Martins, using an email address he left with the papers. Sam thought it a prudent idea to reach out and create some kind of direct contact with the man if Kira was going to training in his organization. After finishing the polite email and including a few brief questions to get a better idea of the program, Sam sent it, immediately facing into a mountain of work which he already had to catch up on due to the situation with Kira. He knuckled down and soon enough he had polished off his second, third, fourth and fifth cups of coffee.

The rest of the afternoon wasn’t much different. Ken tried to recuperate his mind and body. Making plans on which part of the city he would check the next day. Every now and then he checked if anything related to the previous day has been published. It was amazing how the human mind deals with traumatic events. It already seemed like everything that had happened so recently has been ages ago. Ken made sure to have eaten and stored some snacks in his room by the time his family came home. He didn’t want to meet any of them. Even less than normal. When his mother came knocking on his door with the question why he had not done any dinner prep, he replied in a miserable voice that he was feeling sick. With that the subject was done. Of course no question if he needed anything. But that was fine for a change. It seemed like one day of rest would be fine. How quick this resolution was going to be tested was unknown.
Kenji went to sleep early. Even he was surprised how easy he fell asleep.

An Explosion rings loud in Casey's ear as he returns fire against insurgents with the tank commander's machine gun. The Iraqi militias swarmed around his tank in large human wave attacks. His tank commander was lying in the gunner's seat drowning in his own blood from a wound in his neck. Corporal Norton's panic only rose and rose as he fired into the oncoming hordes of hostiles attempting to swarm his tank platoon. "Get down idiot!" Corporal Norton obeyed the voice of his platoon sergeant over the radio closing the hatch above him. A second later a machine gun raked the across his tank removing the majority of the threat. "Get your tank out of here!" came the voice of his platoon sergeant again over the radio. Casey yelled to the driver to back the tank up to retreat as fast as possible. Casey guided his driver over a sand dune and out of the line of fire through the commander's periscopes. He heard the sounds of battle become distant as they sped away. Casey noted some sort of buzzing noise, the firing of a tanks cannon, a separate explosion and then only the noises of the track of the tank. Casey's eyes darkened as they crossed the desolate sand.

Casey wakes to his alarm blaring in his ears. He reaches for a glass of water on his night stand as he turns of the alarm with his other hand. He erects himself turning to sit on the side of his bed. He washed his dream away from his mind taking another sip of water. He mused over being the only survivor of his platoon for a moment. The others in his tank had died at later points in the war there and in Afghanistan but he survived. Casey cleared his mind as he got out of bed as an early morning freight train passed the Black Bullet. He did his morning workout routine, conducted personal hygiene and dressed all before the clock read 6:30 AM.

Breakfast waited for him at his laptop where he continued his work from the night before. He deciphered the data and found more than Maddox might have thought might be on the data card. Enough for a search warrant of his house and perhaps enough evidence to convict Maddox for good. Casey copies the data that he finds pertinent and uses it to fill out a request to a judge to get a warrant to search the Maddox residence. As he finishes he hears a knock on one of the doors, "Come in." Mongrel enters and quickly informs him that the search for Garrison's body was given up as the trail had gone cold. She is brought breakfast by one of Casey's drones and the two eat while catching up from old times. Mongrel leaves before long to finally get rest after the long day. Casey watched as she left the coach and crossed the rail yard in the early morning light. His handler seemed to be running late given that it was eight in the morning and he hadn't arrived.

Snow started falling around Kira as she walked through the city. Something nearby drew her attention, a soft rumble that was slowly growing louder, like a train in the distance. She came to a crossroads, looking left and right. She looked forward again and in an instant the soft, distant sound grew to a thunderous crescendo, a rhythmic roar. Kira blinked, suddenly a train hurtled straight towards her, it's antique exterior covered in sut and rust. She flinched as it grew to fill her entire field of vision, felt her skin prickle and when she looked again the train was gone, replaced by a burning, ruined version of the crossroads.
Looking down at her body Kira observed it was glowing like white hot coals, the remnants of her school uniform falling to the ground in cinders. Her hands radiated brighter than the rest, too bright to look at. Her attention returned to the hellscape around her. The roads were cracked, pavements crumbling. The buildings around Kira were burning, roaring flames emerging from windows, doors and roofs. Police cars dotted the disaster, their chassis broken and bodies ripped apart. Bodies hung from the windows, by the wheels, pools of blood seeping into the cracks that crept along the tarmac. Smoke whirled around everywhere, and thick, billowing clouds of it obscured the roads leading left and right. Kira noticed a figure in front of her for the first time, smoke sweeping around it. It was Garrison, but his mask was gone revealing something - familiar?
He charged, so did Kira, neither flinched as they clashed. Kira exploded, Garrison threw a massive blow aimed at her head. It never connected. Instead his hand melted away as it grew near Kira. Her discharge grew in power, streaking out in every direction, coating the entire area in blinding flames. His arm withered before the intensified and rapidly expanding field of explosive energy. As everything up to his shoulder vaporized, Kira’s father stared straight into her eyes.
“Here we go again.” He whispered as the flames turned the rest of his body to bloody ash in a heartbeat. Kira stumbled back, her vision blurring like the whole world was shaking. Her legs gave out, the pillows on the coach preventing any damage. Kira looked down at herself once more. Her body was blackened and charred and her hands, no longer blinding, were mangled and surrounded by blood red flames.
A hand grasped her shoulder, icy cold like a bucket of water crashing over her head. She screamed.

“I’m sorry, I wouldn’t have woken you but you were moving around so much, I thought you’d hurt yourself.” Sam said, comforting a crying Kira who he held tightly in his arms, careful to not disturb her injuries. Kira nodded as her sobs came more slowly.
“Thank you, it was horrible.” She managed to say.
“Was it about Mom and Dad?”
“I, I don’t know.”

Dominic clocks out and begins packing his things and loading his car ready for his week long vacation to start he had plans to take the train to the coast line for a beach get away, and to relax, forgetting the struggles of work and schooling for his kids. On the way home he see cop bikes pass him light and sirens which he ignores since the lab that he works at isn't in the best neighborhood. About 20 minutes passes by and he turns into the complex where him and his family lives and again sees the same bikes and lights near the entrance of the housing complex. He approaches the house seeing a darkened figure fly away from the back yard of his home. he parks in the drive way and approaches the house to the the door open slightly sand the locks broken as if the door was kicked in. As he enters the house he sees pictures that once where on the walls have been knocked onto the floor and broken, the TV smashed in, He calls for his wife and kids, but receives no answer. He makes his way up stairs and starts seeing bloody foot prints on the carpet, He goes into the bedroom to see his wife lifeless bend over on the bed, with marks on the wall showing she was fighting back with her powers. Fearing the worst he runs down the hall, and opens his kids room where he sees the oldest son leaning against the wall covered in blood with scratch marks all over his chest and back. He looks around for the youngest one. his daughter who was showing signs of gaining her moms powers but does see her. He begins to panic and call out her name trying to find her running threw the house. "Anna, Where are you?" he continues to shout as he opens every door of the house as the police now begin to enter the house. He finally makes his way to the back yard where he finds his daughter lifeless near the shed with an arm missing and her head having massive trauma. He would lean over to try and touch her but as he does, he jolts awake back in his prison cell, his pillow drenched in sweat. and he can feel his heart pumping in his chest. He would just sit in his bed and begin to cry softly to himself.

A loud train horn blasted followed by a yelp drowned out by cacophony of the westbound freight. The door behind Casey slams open followed by the hyperventilation of John Martins. Casey starts to speak, "You're La-". His handler cuts him off, "Casey you seriously need to stop parking at the siding closest to the mainline. This is the second time I have been nearly flattened by a passing train. I did however file the search warrant for the Maddox residence and I have sent an email with answers to the questions from the older Ziegler brother." Casey laughs at john a little bit and says, "if you don't like my parking complain to Union Pacific, it's their railyard. I just land where they give me clearance. I have also filed a change in operational area form. I think we will be here a while. As soon as we get the warrant I am going to move on the Maddox residence to gather evidence."

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Maddox's lawyer walks into the his cell with his guard and speaks to Dominic, "Your bond has been paid. You are free to leave however I expect you to meet me in my office this afternoon after three pm. If you don't show up you can't expect to win your case as the information we discuss will be critical." Mr.Wheeler leads Maddox out of the room and whispers into his ear, "A warrant has been filed to search the entirety of your residence. It is a guarantee that Casey will be conducting it with some FBI agents. If you happen to be in the house don't cause trouble and obey their commands to the letter. After all this mess can be cleaned up and all you have to do is behave.

Ken woke up drenched in sweat. At first he could not move a single muscle. He didn’t know why but he was shaken to the bones. While trying to calm down his rapid breathing, he tried to remember the nightmare that was still sending cold shivers down his back. However, all that came to mind was a swirling darkness and something clenching his throat making him unable to breath. There was nothing that he could reason away. Nothing for which he could devise a strategy to be able to escape. Just plain fear choking him.
After a while, he managed to turn on the lights. A last remaining bit of superstition to chase away the bad. Slowly the feeling in his limbs started to come back. He got out of bed and did some stretching to get rid of the stiffness and in order to become fully awake, as that is the best way to get rid of nightmares. Afterwards Kenji went back to bed and not before long he fell into a dreamless sleep.
He was woken up quite crudely by someone knocking on his door. “Get your lazy ass out of bed already and make breakfast!” Ken looked at nis clock, six o’clock in the morning. More than half an hour earlier than the usual breakfast time. More knocking. “I said get up you lazy good for nothing or I’ll kick you out!” It seems like his father got up with his right leg this morning. “I am coming already,” he said grumpy. “Don’t talk back and do something remotely useful for once!” Stomping footsteps went away from the door. Kenji lifted himself from his bed and took a deep breath. He has to contain his emotions. Showing even the littlest bit of either positive or negative emotions is just going to trigger him more. If only he had any financial support to move out of this place. He was forbidden to work while studying because if he had time for work then he could use that time to study as well. He did take up part time jobs during his breaks. But he had to give away half of his savings because his family supported him soo much already... and the other little half was just enough for some clothes and other small necessities. Ken had longsince vowed to get a job, any job, as soon as he is done studying and get as far away from this place as possible. And when that other thing is over, but that shouldn’t take much longer. Hopefully.
Kenji went downstairs to get yelled at and insulted some more while he catered to every need of his family. Afterwards he checked his email and found out that the university was closed for a few more days. So he spent his time training in different locations, studying in the public library and doing his patrols. The last one without any result.
